Patient Instructions for Abortion Appointments

Please read and follow these instructions carefully. They are important to your health and safety.

Please call to make an appointment.
For morning appointments, do not eat, drink, chew or smoke after midnight the day of the procedure.
For evening appointments, do not eat, drink, chew or smoke after 10:00 AM the day of the procedure.
Do not use drugs or alcohol for 48 hours prior to the procedure.
Bring extra underwear, 2 or 3 sanitary pads, and an extra pair of socks.
Do not wear makeup or nail polish. Women who wear contact lenses or dentures must remove them prior to the procedure.
Do not wear jewelry, or bring valuables to the clinic.
If you are selecting twilight or general anesthesia, you must have a ride home.
You may bring only one guest only with you to the clinic (no children.)
If using insurance, bring your insurance card and picture ID (drivers license, passport or state-issued ID) with you.
No aspirin products prior to surgery

If you are not yet 16 years old, please bring one adult (18 years or older) guest with you. Your guest must bring a valid photo I.D.
